Last time Pigz In Zen, Inc. helped Rich Uhrich Rare U.S. Coins, Inc. we revamped the back-end of their web site. That project was about providing the tools they needed to better manage their business on and offline. This time, however, was about sprucing up the public facing portion of the site. The main goal was to make the coins themselves more visible.

Rich Uhrich Rare U.S. Coins, Inc.So to accomplish the goal, we did away with the old side nav, and spread the coins across the entire width of the page, which was also stretched from an 800x600 optimized window to a 1024x768 screen. We also consolidated the color palette to even out the site and draw focus better on the coins themselves, along with a number of other new features.

Full new feature list:

  • Re-sized site for 1024 x 768 - to provide more room for coins on the screen
  • Converted side navigation to horizontal top navigation - to provide more room for coins on the screen
  • Consolidated the color palette - to better draw attention to the coins, and not the rest of the site
  • Implemented light-box image display feature - to simplify navigation when viewing larger views of the coins, and better highlight the obverse & reverse detail
  • Brought shopping cart process into the framework of the site - to prevent the shopping cart package from feeling like you were sent to a different web site

We have already heard that customer compliments have started to come in, and the new site has only been live for 20 hours!

As always it is a pleasure working with Rich Uhrich Rare U.S. Coins, Inc. and we look forward to doing so again in the future.
